    Spring

As water warms, shallower sunny areas may become attractive, although sudden cold spells can change fish location quickly. Fish lightly until you have evidence of sustained feeding.

    Summer

Carp may show high in the water, use shade or feed during lower-light periods. Consider safe surface or zig presentations only where permitted and with fish welfare and wildlife in mind.

    Autumn

Feeding opportunities can improve on some fisheries, but results vary. Look for actual signs rather than assuming every carp is on a heavy autumn feeding campaign.

    Winter

Fish may feed for short periods and remain difficult to locate. Accurate placement and a conservative amount of bait can be more useful than introducing large quantities into cold water.

    Questions

    Is winter carp fishing possible?

Yes, on suitable fisheries, though feeding and activity can be limited.

Are carp always in deep water in winter?

No. Their location varies by lake and conditions.
